India is slowly becoming unsafe country for tourists and citizens. It’s simply pathetic. Education and Values – How can you put them in everyone’s head? How can you stop these crimes?! It’s no longer safe to walk alone even in day time! Anything can happen at any time. Are we just going to have to keep getting used to this and carry on with our daily routine?! Below are the top 5 major issues that needs to be fixed before country becomes Jungle.
Rape
Each week there is at least 2-3 cases of rapes being registered (at least comes in news). But there are many in small cities and villages, which never gets in news or registered. Number of rape cases within family by family members, gang rapes and rapes on foreign tourists (specially in Goa and north Indian tourist spots) have more than tripled in last 2 year alone! From 1971 till 2006, rape cases had jumped 678%, but now including last 2 year, it would have been over 999% it’s a shame!
Self Proclaimed Groups & Extremists
Shiv Sena, MNS – Tearing apart peace and community, in name of locality. What’s the difference between terrorism and groups like Shiv Sena, MNS? Terrorists blow up people and places, groups like Shiv Sena, MNS break people’s bones and break their places of business and ways of making living. Moral Police Groups? Beating up people in name of culture. When these groups try having their way, it seems country’s law and order department or justice department doesn’t exist! If such groups wants to do anything good, than go on border and help in natural disasters instead destructing life of people in masses! Do some voluntary work in nursing homes and cleaning up streets.
Drugs
This is serious in big cities! I had never heard a name of drugs or marijuana – weed in India till 2002 but getting in touch with few people from Bangalore, Kolkota, Mumbai I found that it’s easily gettable! Youngsters falling in this trap and business of this drugs, going up.
Maoists
I guess Mr. Chidambaram will be waiting till this group reaches in major cities across the country. Learn from Srilanka and wipe them out for once and all until majority of this group is holding themselves in one part of country. Once they gets mixed in cities, local law department will be helpless! If Army is free, Air force is free and use of them can be applied in certain area, than do!
Murder, Extortion & Theft
Although number of murder and extortion cases haven’t jumped high as rape cases in last few years, they certainly are a big concern. Just because numbers are not gone up, doesn’t mean its good. Still over 15,000 cases registered each year. On other hand cases of theft are just going up and hardly gets solved.
Blame it on western culture, freedom that young generation getting or extremist groups dividing country – but it needs to be controlled and put to complete stop. How in a country where all bound to religion, respect, acceptance, cultural values – all this is happening!? If you as a normal person can’t pull the gun trigger, its understandable but at least each of you can make sure YOUR children, YOUR family gets proper values and follows decent path of life. Government will not come home to teach all this to you. It’s not your duty just as a citizen, but your duty as a parent, as a family towards your loved ones to keep them away from falling in steps of crime and illegal activities. If all takes responsibilities of own, it sure will help.
